Together, We'll Make an Impact

Discover your voice and have a beautiful experience writing, publishing, and launching a book with a seasoned partner—someone committed to developing every dimension of the message you were called to share with the world….

Hi, I’m Nakia JST

This is my little corner of the world where I spend hours of focused time with authors who are ready to powerfully impact their community, audience, and space.

For over 15 years, I’ve worked in the publishing industry as a ghostwriter, consultant, narrative strategist, and marketing creative for some of the most influential voices in their fields. I’ve had the pleasure of developing ideas worth standing behind, crafting must-read manuscripts, building proposals that close six-figure deals, creating longstanding book plans, and navigating traditional and self-publishing paths with clarity and confidence.

As the founder and creator of Author Partner today, my focus is on partnering with driven entrepreneurs, speakers, influencers, and storytellers on their journey to write, publish, and launch in the most impactful way possible.

Choose Your Starting Point

1:1 GENERAL SESSION, 60-MIN
$300

The Strategic Consultation

Strategic solutions for every stage, every challenge, and every hard question in your writing and publishing journey.

We understand that not every publishing question fits into a defined stage or a specific service. For this reason, the Strategic Consultation exists. It covers the moments you’re between sessions and something comes up; the moments you’ve worked with us before and need to return for a focused hour on a new challenge to solve; and the moments you’re simply in a stage that isn’t specifically listed anywhere — and you just need an experienced consultant to think it through with you. The Strategic Consultation is one hour of focused conversation. For whatever is on your desk right now that needs a strategic answer, let’s meet!

1:1 THINK TANK SESSION, 90-MIN
$750

The Idea Developer

Challenge your idea, clarify your concept, find your direction, and move forward knowing it’s the right one, for right now.

Most book ideas never reach their fullest potential — for the author, the audience, or the market. Not because the idea wasn’t good enough, but because it was never properly developed before time and money were spent writing, publishing, and launching it. The 1:1 Idea Developer session exists to change that. In 90 minutes we’ll challenge your idea, clarify your concept, identify your audience, land on a publishing direction, and map out what this book needs to become to actually reach the people it was meant for — in today’s market.

1:1 WORKING SESSION, 2-HOURS
FROM $1,500

The Framework Builder

Build the structure your book plan, book proposal, or book outline needs before a single chapter is written.

The 1:1 Framework Builder sessions are hands-on, 2-hour working sessions designed to create ease, guidance, and momentum — so you leave with a working framework built specifically around your book, your audience, and your publishing path and goals.

Offerings are split into three track session areas you can choose from. (1) For those going after a traditional book deal or hybrid publishing opportunity, we help build the framework for a strong book proposal. (2) For those looking to successfully self-publish, we help build the framework for a solid book plan. And (3) for authors, regardless of path, who are ready to lock down a polished, detailed book outline that jumpstarts a promising manuscript writing phase. The book outline frameworks built in this session can also be used in your book proposal or book plan.

Application approval required before booking an appointment for this session.

FAQs

I'm not sure which session is right for me. Where do I start?

If your book idea still needs development and clarity, start with the Idea Developer. If you have a clear concept and need to build your traditional publishing book proposal, self-publishing book plan, or in-depth book outline — go to the Framework Builder work sessions. If you have a specific challenge or question that doesn’t fit neatly into a defined stage—join one of our free weekly group sessions where we answer submitted questions OR book 1:1 time with the Strategic Consultation session. And if you’re ready for six weeks of intensive, hands-on partnership through any stage of your journey — that’s Author Partnership 360. Still not sure? Email us at manager@theauthorpartner.com before booking and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Do I need to have my book idea fully developed before booking?

It depends on the session. The 1:1 Idea Developer, 1:1 Strategic Consultation, and weekly group Office Hours are designed to meet you wherever you are, including early and unclear. The Framework Builder requires you to have a developed concept and a clear publishing direction before we build. Author Partnership 360 can begin at any stage — including concept development through Track A. If you’re unsure whether you’re ready, book a Strategic Consultation or join a free Office Hour group session first, we’ll figure it out together.

Can I work with you if I've already started writing or I'm mid-publishing process?

Absolutely! And you don’t need to be at the beginning to work with Nakia and the Author Partner team. Here’s where to start based on what you’re in the middle of:

If you’re mid-manuscript or actively writing: Start with the Strategic Consultation for a focused hour of guidance, or go straight into Author Partnership 360 — Track B (Draft & Manuscript Development) for six weeks of intensive writing support, developmental feedback, and manuscript momentum.

If you’re self-publishing and mid-production or preparing to launch: The Strategic Consultation can address any specific decision or challenge you’re facing. For a more intensive, focused engagement through your production and launch process, Author Partnership 360 — Track C (Publish, Launch & Leverage) is built for exactly this stage.

If you’re pursuing a traditional deal and haven’t yet started or finished your book proposal: You have two great options. Book a 1:1 Framework Builder session for a focused, hands-on working session where we build your proposal framework together in real time. Or join one of our monthly Book Proposal Crash Courses for a compact, group-based lesson on how to build a winning proposal from start to finish.

If you’re pursuing a traditional deal and already working with an agent or in the submission process: The Strategic Consultation is your best starting point — bring your specific question, challenge, or decision and we’ll work through it together. Author Partnership 360 — Track C also covers submission strategy, agent navigation, and what to do when offers come in.

Wherever you are — there’s a session built for it. You don’t have to start over to move forward.

How do applications work for gated services?

The Framework Builder and Author Partnership 360 both require application submissions before booking. Nakia reviews every application personally and responds within 3-4 business days. If it’s a good fit she’ll send you your next steps along with either a direct booking link to access Framework Builder calendar or a discovery call link to begin a tailored Author Partnership 360 experience. If the timing or fit isn’t right she’ll let you know honestly and point you toward a better starting point. No application is ever ignored — every submission gets a personal response.

*If you have not received a response within 4 “business” days, please do the following: check your Spam folder, give us a grace period of 1-2 more days to respond if it’s not there, and then email us directly at manager@theauthorpartner.com.

Do you work with fiction authors?

Not exactly. However, fiction authors can benefit from general consultations on publishing and launching challenges, but at the moment, all paid Author Partner services are designed specifically for developing certain outcomes for nonfiction authors (including business, self-help, personal growth, memoir/autobiography, spirituality/religion, leadership, health and wellness, and related categories). If you are a fiction author and interested in receiving professional advice, please reach out to the team directly (manager@theauthorpartner.com), and we can point you in the right direction for your journey and/or connect you with professionals who specialize in your area.

What's the difference between the Framework Builder and Author Partnership 360?

The Framework Builder is a single 2-hour working session with 3 track options and a defined deliverable. Together, we either work on building your proposal framework, self-publishing book plan, or book outline, and you leave with a working document. It’s focused, time-limited, and built around one specific output.

Author Partnership 360 is a six-week intensive sprint where Nakia works alongside you throughout — weekly calls, editorial feedback, strategic guidance, and consistent accountability across whichever stage of your publishing journey needs the most attention. It’s a deeper, more sustained engagement built for authors who need more than one working session to move their book meaningfully forward.
