The Idea Developer

1:1 90-Min Think Tank Session, $750

Book This Session

INTRO

Challenge your idea, clarify your concept, find your direction, and move forward knowing it’s the right one, for right now.

Most book ideas never reach their fullest potential — for the author, the audience, or the market. Not because the idea wasn’t good enough, but because it was never properly developed before time and money were spent writing, publishing, and launching it. The 1:1 Idea Developer session exists to change that. In 90 minutes we’ll challenge your idea, clarify your concept, identify your audience, land on a publishing direction, and map out what this book needs to become to actually reach the people it was meant for — in today’s market.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This session is for nonfiction authors at the earliest stage of their book journey — idea in hand but path unclear. It’s for you if:

  • You have a book idea that has been living in your head but hasn’t fully taken shape on paper
  • You’ve completed the Book Idea Challenge and want to go deeper on your results with expert guidance
  • You know you have something worth saying but aren’t sure what kind of book it should be, who it’s really for, or where to start
  • You want an honest assessment of your idea’s potential before investing time, money, and energy into writing and publishing
  • You’re an entrepreneur, speaker, influencer, or ministry leader with a message and a platform — and you’re ready to turn that into a book that works as hard as you do

This session is not for authors who are mid-manuscript or already clear on their concept and direction. If you’re past this stage the Framework Builder may be a better fit.

WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE

Every Idea Developer session includes a written summary delivered to your inbox within 24-48 hours of your call. Inside you’ll find:

  • Your book concept statement — what your book is, who it’s for, and what makes it worth reading, refined to 2–3 sentences you can use immediately
  • Your defined primary audience — specific enough to inform every publishing decision that follows
  • Your market assessment — where your book fits, what the competition looks like, and what makes your angle worth a reader’s time
  • Your publishing path recommendation — which direction makes the most sense for your book and why
  • Your positioning angle — the specific framing that differentiates your book in its category
  • Your written action plan — a specific, sequenced list of next steps tailored to your book, your path, and your readiness level
  • Book outline direction tips — practical guidance on how to begin developing your book’s structure so you know exactly how to move forward after our session

WHAT WE COVER IN YOUR SESSION

Every Idea Developer session moves through six areas of development — each one building on the last to give your idea the foundation it needs before anything else happens.

Concept Clarity & Refinement: Most authors can talk about their book idea for five minutes but can’t describe it in two sentences. We change that. Together we sharpen your concept until it’s clear, compelling, and specific enough to build everything else around — your title, your positioning, your marketing, your proposal or book plan.

Audience Identification & Definition: “Everyone” is not an audience. We get specific — who your primary reader is, what they already believe, what they’re struggling with, and why your book serves them in a way nothing else does. This specificity is what separates books that reach people from books that sit in boxes.

Market Viability & Comparable Titles: We assess whether there’s a real, active market for your book. We look at comparable titles, category trends, timing, and whether your concept is differentiated enough to stand out. If there are red flags I’ll name them honestly. If the market is strong I’ll tell you exactly why and how to position into it.

Concept Positioning & Angle: This is where your book stops being a general idea and becomes a specific, distinct book with a clear angle. We find the lens, hook, or framing that makes your book different from everything else in your category — and gives readers a reason to choose yours.

Publishing Path Assessment: Based on your concept, audience, platform, and goals, we determine which publishing path makes the most sense for you right now — traditional, self-publishing, or hybrid — and why. This isn’t a generic overview of your options. It’s a path recommendation built around your specific book and situation.

Book Outline Direction & Next Steps: Before we close the session we map out how to move your idea forward into a workable outline — the structure and direction your book needs to take shape. You’ll leave with a clear sense of what your book’s architecture should look like and how to begin developing it, whether you continue with Author Partner or move forward on your own.
